The Drivalia Car Rental compound was even busier than usual last week with the arrival of a stream of car transporters delivering our most recent purchases: 100 brand new Peugeot 208s.

When the Peugeot 208 was launched in the UK earlier in 2012, What Car? liked the “stylish looks and classy cabin” but noted that “the Peugeot 208´s won´t suit everyone. Peugeot has fitted an unusually small steering wheel that you look over (instead of through) to see the instruments.”

The Telegraph concluded the 208 is “Very handsome, especially the three-door. Base models feel cheap and some models need more gears. More than respectable ride and handling thanks to weight savings.”

Top Gear said, about the HDi diesel version that we have purchased:  “The Peugeot 208 is far, far better than the 207 it replaces…. Quality is their new watchword.…..Sure, there are still hard plastics in less obvious places, but that´s no different to any rival. And in the 208, all models bar the base Access get the nifty touchscreen as standard, which has transformed the interior. No more cluttered dash – instead, the Pug has an upmarket feel to it.”

Overall at Drivalia we like: the build quality, the stylish design and the fact that Peugeot has put emphasis on both emissions and, given the erratic price of fuel, economy. These new additions complement our existing fleet of around 1000 cars which range from the Ford Ka (Group A) to the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso (Group G) and Citroen DS3 (Group S).

You will continue to see new arrivals at Drivalia because we are committed to providing you with modern vehicles. At the time of writing (July 2012) all of our cars have been registered in either 2011 or 2012. This gives us one of the youngest car rental fleets in Spain.
