If you purchase our SCDW cover or book your car hire on our Ultimate package then you can relax in the knowledge that you are covered for everything with the exception of the interior of the vehicle, your personal belongings or special cleaning should you return the car exceptionally dirty inside.
The only times you would not be covered are in the event of deliberate negligence on your part. Naturally, if you are negligent (for example over the alcohol limit, driving where you shouldn’t be, return the car with internal damage or the car is stolen because you left the key inside it, then you may bear responsibility, but under normal conditions, you will never pay for any damages that might occur if you have our full cover because the Ultimate package and our SCDW cover are designed to give you complete peace of mind.

Debit card car hire at our mobility stores in Spain, is possible if you book our Ultimate package. With Ultimate, you are welcome to pay with a Visa or Mastercard credit card or a Visa, Mastercard or Maestro debit card. You are also welcome to pay with a debit card if you purchase our Drivalia SCDW cover.
If you book our Basic rate and choose not to contract our SCDW cover, the main driver must have a valid credit card (Visa or Mastercard) with them (not debit) in their own name, with sufficient available funds for us to block the excess amount.
Virtual cards, Wallet cards, Apple Pay , American Express & cash payments are not accepted.
The following applies for bookings made directly with Drivalia Rent. If you make your reservation through a third-party broker or agency then you should consult their specific cancellation policy.
Prepaid reservations benefit from a lower rental rate than “pay on arrival” reservations and as you will understand, there are costs associated when a customer cancels (bank charges for the payment & refund, admin etc). Therefore, if you pre-pay for your booking the following charges will apply:
If you cancel more than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time a 15€ admin cost will be deducted from any refund.
If you cancel less than 48 hours but more than 2 hours before the scheduled pickup time a 25€ cost will apply.
If you cancel with less than 2 hours notice, or if you fail to arrive then the full amount paid will be charged.
If you return your car early we do not generally offer refunds for any unused days. Our Ultimate package comes with curtailment cover allowing for a credit note of unused days in certain circumstances such as the main driver being taken ill and needing emergency repatriation.
